Q: What about Alien?
RIDLEY: Yeah, right now I’m in the midst of the most likely is Alien Prequel. Now I’m on my third draft, so it’s like it’s a reality.
Q: Just a little bit about that?
RIDLEY: Well that’s another fight. The enemy is just a beast. Yeah, I mean, I’m not doing it. I’m reading the fourth draft this morning. It’s definitely on the cards and almost very soon. I mean very soon a film of that scale is like almost two years.
Q: How is the story shaping up?
RIDLEY: Great.
Q: Can you tell me anything? Is it a prequel?
RIDLEY: Yes, it’s a prequel and so it’s pretty everybody. It’s pretty everybody.
Q: Are you going to be directing it?
RIDLEY: For sure, are you kidding me. Script is the business plan. Yeah, we’re still…its hard to write. The hardest single thing is to write a screenplay. Making movies is easy.
Q: Would it be like a young Ripley?
RIDLEY: No, no, no, that’s way before Ripley. Unfortunately, I like to work with her again but this predates that. In some respects, it predates... erase memory. Alien was probably manufactured in that Von Danigan… was a good guesser.There were superior beings here millions of years ago here and various other places.
Q: So its earth bound this story?
RIDLEY: No. I think the alien itself maybe fundamentally exhaustive. I think they’re exhaustive.
Q: So you got to rethink
RIDLEY: I have to.
Q: Because it could’ve evolved?
RIDLEY: Alien 1 it evolved to that. What was before it? So I’m doing what was before it.
